The Department of Agricultural Leadership, Education, and Communication (ALEC) offers multi-disciplinary teaching, research and extension programs aimed at developing and supporting professionals for agricultural education, communication, environmental education, and leadership. We offer personal attention and a challenging, yet supportive, learner-centered educational environment. The College of Agricultural & Environmental Sciences (CAES) and the ALEC department offer a small school atmosphere amidst the abundant opportunities and resources at the the University of Georgia. We offer a solid curriculum designed to prepare undergraduate and graduate students with opportunities for personal and professional growth and development. Our faculty are highly rated for their teaching, research, and Extension programs. Their areas of focus include teacher education, communication, Extension education, environmental education, leadership development, service learning, interdisciplinary education, program development and evaluation, internationalization of the curriculum, international development, distance education, information and technology transfer, and organizational/community change and problem solving skills.
This position is based out of the Four Towers building on River Road on UGA’s East Campus, near the Visitor’s Center, the Ramsey Student Activities Center, the Health Center, convenient parking and bus service. Minimum qualifications for possible appointment ranks additionally include the following:
1. Earned doctorate in Agricultural Leadership, Education, or Communication, or in Agricultural related field in line with the rank of Associate/Full Professor.
2. Specific qualifications per rank:
a. ASSOCIATE Professor:
c. Appointment rank for candidates not currently in a faculty appointment will be assessed commensurate with professional experience within areas of expertise.
