Job Summary

The Department of Poultry Science at the University of Georgia invites applications for an academic year (9-month) tenure-track faculty position at the Assistant Professor rank with a research (75%) and instruction (25%) appointment in poultry nutrition. The successful applicant will be expected to develop innovative and successful teaching and research programs and pursue extramural funding related to research and/or teaching through interdisciplinary, multi-institutional research program with UGA College of Engineering and other potential collaborators at UGA and other institutions. The individual selected for this position will be expected to develop a contemporary program in poultry nutrition. Potential research foci could include, but are not limited to, nutrient interactions, metabolism, energy partitioning, feed ingredients, nutrient requirements and feed milling technology. The successful applicant must develop a strong graduate training program. Teaching responsibilities may include departmental undergraduate courses such as poultry production and, at graduate level, bioenergetics and amino acids.

The Department of Poultry Science has exceptional research and live bird facilities, including a hatchery, feed mill, and pilot-scale poultry processing facility. Minimum Qualifications

Applicants must possess a Ph.D. in poultry science or a nutrition related field no later than December 2017.

Preferred Qualifications

Demonstrated granstsmanship, research and teaching experience (1 or more years) is preferred.
