Job Summary

The Department of International Affairs at the University of Georgia invites applications for a tenure track position in international relations at the rank of Assistant Professor to begin in the fall of 2018. While we seek a scholar who is broadly trained in the concepts, methods, and approaches used in the study of international relations, we are particularly interested in candidates with teaching and research interests in international political economy. Candidates are expected to have a demonstrated ability to produce high quality research, show promise of attracting external funding, and be well trained in research methods, broadly defined.

The School of Public and International Affairs, of which the DIA is one of three Departments, has two state of the art experimental research labs – one for group surveys and experiments; the other for political psychophysiological research. Candidates who can make use of these facilities are particularly encouraged to apply.

The Department of International Affairs is committed to enhancing the diversity of the department and the curriculum. Candidates who can contribute to these goals are encouraged to apply and to identify their strengths and experiences in this area in their cover letter.

Prospective candidates should send a cover letter indicating interest and qualifications, a current curriculum vita, teaching evaluations demonstrating excellence in instruction, original transcripts, and three letters of recommendation.

Applications received by September 20, 2017 will be assured full consideration.
