Minimum Qualifications

The applicant must have completed a doctorate in higher education or a related social-science field. Prior faculty experience is not required for appointment at the assistant level. Appointment at the assistant or associate level will be guided by the candidate’s prior experience and scholarly qualifications and determined by UGA’s criteria for faculty appointment, promotion and tenure.

Preferred Qualifications

Our preference is for candidates with in-depth preparation in qualitative research methodologies; an established program of scholarly research on postsecondary education; and a minimum of three years of successful teaching experience at the graduate level. Priority will be given to applicants with a history of securing external research funding and with expertise, experience, or interest in scholarship on comparative and international higher-education issues.
