Job Summary

The College of Environment and Design (CED) at the University of Georgia invites applications for a full time Academic Professional beginning January 1, 2018. The selected candidate will be expected to teach courses within the College of Environment and Design, support college-wide computer graphics instruction, manage the college’s website, assist students with operational and other questions related to software and equipment, and work with the IT director and staff as necessary to support lab and classroom technology throughout the college.

The University of Georgia’s College of Environment and Design houses accredited Bachelor of Landscape Architecture (BLA), Master of Landscape Architecture (MLA), Master of Environmental Planning and Design (MEPD), Master of Historic Preservation (MHP) and PhD programs. The College is home to the oldest landscape architecture program in the Southeast, and one of the largest programs in the U.S. There is a large and diverse faculty involved with a range of research interests, practice experience, and community service activities. The BLA and MLA programs within the College consistently rank among the top programs in the U.S.

Minimum Qualifications

The College seeks qualified and outstanding individuals with a proven ability to meet the following requirements. Required for the position is an earned accredited terminal degree in Landscape Architecture or Historic Preservation and, a minimum of 10 years of private practice experience.

Preferred Qualifications

The ideal candidate will also have extensive experience with the following digital graphic programs: AutoCAD, Adobe Creative Suite, GIS, SketchUP, and other 3D software. Part of the teaching assignment may include coursework in the Historic Preservation program. Candidates with a background in historic and cultural landscapes are preferred.
