The University of Georgia announces an opening for a tenure track faculty member at the Assistant or Associate level in its new Center for Molecular Medicine (CMM; https://cmm.uga.edu). The CMM building is adjacent to the Complex Carbohydrate Research Center (CCRC; https://ccrc.uga.edu), reflecting and facilitating strong programmatic and collaborative links between the two Centers. The research programs of competitive candidates should have interests in biomedical glycobiology relating to the core mission of the CMM- translation of basic research into a better understanding of health and human disease and therapeutic/diagnostic development.
Specific areas of research include;
• stem cell biology and regenerative medicine
• human disease modeling including congenital disorders of glycosylation
• drug discovery
• cancer biology
• immunology and vaccine development.
• other areas relating to biomedical glycobiology
Applicants at the Assistant level must have a Ph.D. degree (or equivalent), at least two years relevant postdoctoral research experience, an outstanding publication record, and a well-developed research plan. Applicants at the Associate level should additionally have an already established, well-funded, and impactful research program. Successful candidates will be expected to build or maintain a vibrant, extramurally funded research program.
