Salary Range Minimum $46,000 for Master's Degree or $34,500/year for Bachelor's Degree as well as an excellent benefits package. reimbursement for business travel will be provided.
Job Summary

This Lowndes CO Extension faculty member will be a driving force in “hands on” education in the classroom, providing leadership opportunities for the youth of the area to excel. This position is necessary to carry out a presence in the community by promoting 4-H –not only in the classroom, but also at conferences, 4-H camp, and various other programs that may continue a positive contact with the school system and area. Moody Air Force Base is in the county and is a contributing factor in the successful programming available to 4-H Youth and to the programs enrollment. The incumbent will lead the way by spearheading the Lowndes 4-H program delivery within the assigned county at over 48 organized clubs.

Qualifications: This position requires:
• A Bachelor’s degree (Master’s degree strongly preferred) in Agriculture, Education, Human/Youth Development, Sociology, Family & Consumer Sciences, Recreation, or closely related area
• One year of experience including demonstrated communication ability as well as skills in leadership, management, and multi-tasking, and a demonstrated ability to work as a team member and with groups and committees.

The ability to design, coordinate, and teach educational programs to meet community needs.

Major Responsibilities:
• Responsible for managing the 4-H program in Lowndes County by providing educational programs for youth in 4-H club meetings, coordinating local activities, and preparing youth for project and judging events
• Implements the CAES Civil Rights/Equal Opportunity plan and ensures that clientele understand that UGA Extension offers its educational programs, assistance, and materials to all people without regard to race, color, religion, sex, national origin, disability, gender identity, sexual orientation or protected veteran status
• Provides leadership for volunteers, Para-professionals, and teen leaders in delivering 4-H and Youth programs
• Utilizes the expertise of and works closely with advisory groups, community leaders, public officials and representatives of intended audiences to analyze data, identify needs, and assist in developing educational programs
• Develops a plan of work that is equitable in meeting the varied socio-economic needs of the county
• Develops and conducts relevant interdisciplinary programs with other staff members based on critical issues
• Collaborates with other agencies and community groups to plan and implement programs
• Conducts promotional efforts to expand the public’s view of extension programming
• Utilizes current research data and information on emerging issues in program development and teaching
• Demonstrates personal interest and involvement in community by participating in and supporting civic/community activities/organizations and networking with community leaders

• This position requires frequent night meetings, some weekend work, and attendance at out-of-county meetings. A valid driver’s license and a personal vehicle for official duty travel are required.

Minimum Qualifications

A Master’s degree is required for hiring as a Public Service Faculty member. A Bachelor’s degree is acceptable for a Public Service Professional position. A Public Service Professional may apply for a faculty appointment upon completion of an advanced degree or successful progression through the public service promotion process.

Preferred Qualifications
