The Department of Educational Psychology at the University of Georgia invites applicants to apply for a tenure-track faculty position at the associate professor level with our Applied Cognition and Development faculty.

Area of expertise is open as long as it contributes to the mission of the Applied Cognition and Development area of emphasis. This emphasis explores the effect of cognitive and developmental processes on education, determines how knowledge can be applied to teaching and learning, prepares graduates to improve education through research, and develops skills in conducting research in applied settings. The successful applicant will be expected to maintain a high-quality research program, garner external funding, serve as a research mentor for students, direct theses and dissertations, participate in faculty governance, and contribute to the collegial community of the Applied Cognition and Development area and the larger Department of Educational Psychology. The position requires teaching the equivalent of two courses per semester.

Minimum Qualifications

Qualifications include an earned doctorate in educational psychology, developmental psychology, or a closely related field; a well-established scholarly record of research; and a history of securing external funding to support research. To be considered, all candidates must meet qualifications for appointment at the rank of associate professor with tenure, as detailed in Department of Educational Psychology Promotion and Tenure Policies
