Job Summary

Counseling and Psychiatric Services (CAPS) at the University of Georgia’s University Health Center (UHC) is pleased to announce an open psychologist position. This position is full-time, twelve-month, benefited. Duties of the position may include but are not limited to: individual, couples, and group psychotherapy; crisis intervention and triage; outreach, psychoeducational workshops, and consultation; referral to and consultation with psychiatric staff; case management of clients with severe pathology for referral and crisis management; and limited, rotating after-hours on-call service.

Minimum Qualifications

1. Earned doctorate in Counseling or Clinical Psychology and completion of a pre-doctoral internship, both from programs accredited by the American Psychological Association (or equivalent); both degrees lead to titles equivalent in rank and qualifications.
2. Two years of experience in a similar setting providing treatment for disorders typically seen in the college student population.
3. Licensure or eligibility for licensure as a Psychologist in the State of Georgia. A temporary or permanent license from the State of Georgia must be obtained by the date of first employment.
4. CPR/AED certification required within the first six months of employment.

Preferred Qualifications

Preference will be given to applicants who demonstrate:
1. Practice as a strong counseling center generalist with experience in treating a wide range of concerns and degrees of severity.
2. Ability to effectively manage a busy caseload.
3. Eligibility to provide clinical supervision in the state of Georgia (3+ years of licensure).
4. Interest in collaboration within CAPS and the UHC, and with other members of the campus community.
5. Commitment to multicultural competence and practice.
6. Participation in relevant professional organizations.
