Job Summary

The College of Pharmacy and Department of Clinical and Administrative Pharmacy are seeking an outstanding candidate to join our faculty and leadership team at our Southeast Georgia (SEGA) Clinical campus in Savannah, Georgia.

This position will serve as the Assistant Dean for the SEGA campus and also as an Associate Department Head and will integrate into the administrative teams of the College and Department. We are seeking a dynamic, creative, and innovative individual with leadership skills that will enhance and continue to foster excellence in the department, college and university community.

Background: The College of Pharmacy, based in Athens, has established and accredited clinical campuses in Augusta, Albany and Savannah, Georgia. The Doctor of Pharmacy Program follows a 2+2 model whereby students complete their first two years on the Athens campus, with the last 2 years on campuses throughout the states.
The Department of Clinical and Administrative Pharmacy is one of two academic units within the College of Pharmacy with the department head located on the Athens campus and Associate Department Heads on each of our Albany, Augusta, and Savannah campuses. The Department of Clinical and Administrative Pharmacy is integral to the delivery of the Doctor of Pharmacy, graduate (Ph.D.), and post-graduate training programs. The department has nine joint PGY-1 & -2 residency programs with health-system partners and a graduate (M.S./Ph.D.) program across the spectrum of translational science. Research in the department is supported by federal and non-federal grants. Faculty, students and trainees in these programs are located throughout the state.

Position Description: It is anticipated that the successful candidate will commit 30 percent of their time to administration and be appointed to the clinical track, commensurate with their experience and qualifications.

The incumbent will provide leadership and direction for the SEGA program, represent the College of Pharmacy within the region, assure compliance with university and college policies and standards, oversee student services, and address student issues as needed.

Consistent with university and departmental guidelines and policies for appointment and promotion of clinical faculty, other responsibilities and opportunities may include teaching in the professional and/or graduate programs, providing clinical practice for student and resident education, conducting research, and providing service to the college, university and society. We are particularly interested in those that will develop and maintain excellence in education, scholarship and practice in pediatrics or internal medicine. However, other areas of clinical practice will be considered.

Description of Institution/Organization: The faculty member will be in Savannah, Georgia. The SEGA Clinical Campus is located in the St. Joseph’s/Candler Health System. Minimum Qualifications

Applicants must hold a Pharm.D. degree with leadership experience and have completed postgraduate residency, fellowship training, or equivalent experience.

Preferred Qualifications

Specialty or PGY-2 residency training and Board certification are preferred, but equivalent experience will be considered.

The successful candidate must become licensed to practice in the state of Georgia.
