Job Summary

Coordinate program efforts with the State Family and Consumer Sciences (FACS) program leader and other College faculty.

Will Coordinate the work of state specialists within counties located in Southeast District.

Will coordinate management of grant funded programs with the grant’s principal investigator.

Serve as mentor, advisor and teacher for FACS county Extension Agents.

Work directly with county Extension agents in developing and implementing county FACS plans of work.

Work with state FACS faculty in development, implementation and assessment of county FACS outreach efforts.

Work with county and state faculty in the development and implementation of FACS programming impact assessments.

Work with county Extension faculty in the development of multi-county FACS programs.

Provide leadership for regional events within respective district in cooperation with appropriate state FACS faculty and county Extension staff.

Work with appropriate state faculty and staff to develop trainings, systems and modules for new county agents.

Serve as liaison between county Extension FACS agents and state FACS faculty.

Work with the district Extension director in providing program support for county Extension FACS agents.

Work as a member of the district Extension team (DED, 4-H PDC, ANR PDC) to support all three Extension program areas and mentor county faculty in support of related events, activities and trainings as required.

Assist in the assessment of the state FACS program needs and setting program direction in cooperation with the state FACS staff.

Assist in the development of pertinent applied research in counties.

Coordinate FACS agent trainings.

Travel throughout the state and extensive travel within the district will be necessary to fulfill duties.

Minimum Qualifications

Possess at least five years’ successive Extension and Family and Consumer Sciences (FACS) related experience.

Master’s Degree or hold rank of Senior Public Service Associate.

Preferred Qualifications

Ability to effectively relate to county staff, state faculty and the public.

High degree of competency in human relations skills and the ability to mentor, lead and instruct county faculty.

Demonstrated evidence of visionary and innovative programming.

High level of understanding of the duties of a county Extension agent within the county delivery system.

Computer competency in MS Word, Excel, GA Counts, Extension Training System and other software required.
