Job Summary

The University of Georgia Department of Theatre and Film Studies seeks an academic professional in media technology beginning August 13, 2018. The academic year salary is $50,000 with a two-course teaching load each semester. This non-tenure-track position is renewable on a yearly basis subject to satisfactory performance and the continued availability of funding.

The media technologist provides day-to-day technical support for faculty teaching courses incorporating media technology such as DV Video Production, 3D Printing, Directing for Cinema, Interactive Media and Live Performance, and Acting for the Camera; works with faculty and graduate student media designers to implement media into departmental productions; and manages a check-out system for media equipment.

The instructional load for this position is four courses each year These courses will include the department’s required graduate-level courses Media Studio I-IV along with courses in the individual’s areas of expertise, which may include game design, animation, video production, or sound production.

The Department of Theatre and Film Studies is a unit of the Franklin College of Arts and Sciences.
