Job Summary

The Law Library Associate Director for Collection Services is responsible for collection services which includes collection development, acquisitions, budgeting, cataloging and preservation of the law library’s information resources. This position is a senior management position which requires supervision of librarians and staff as well as planning, assessing and implementing a visionary strategy for library services, resources and technologies.

Minimum Qualifications

Master’s degree in Library Science from an ALA-accredited library school
Five years of collection services experience

Preferred Qualifications

Minimum of 5 years of collection services experience in an academic law library; strong leadership, supervisory, and managerial skills, excellent communication and interpersonal skills, and a demonstrated record of teamwork; must be able to coordinate complex activities, and develop new services. Experience with vendor relations, budget management, online library systems (preferably Innovative Interfaces Inc.), collection development, acquisitions, and digital resources management. Familiarity with bibliographic standards.
