Job Summary

The Law Library Associate Director for Research Services is responsible for all library services to faculty as well as coordinating research and reference services for students, staff, faculty, alumni, and public patrons. This position is a senior management position which requires supervision of librarians and staff as well as planning, assessing and implementing a visionary strategy for library services, resources and technologies.

Minimum Qualifications

Juris Doctor from an ABA-accredited law school, Master’s degree in Library Science from an ALA-accredited library school.

Preferred Qualifications

Minimum of 5 years of research and reference experience in an academic law library. Mastery of substantive legal knowledge and research skills. Strong leadership, supervisory, and managerial skills. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills as well as a solid record of teamwork. Must be able to coordinate complex activities, develop new services, and relate well to faculty. Demonstrated project management skills. Strong organization skills and attention to detail. Familiarity with scholarly legal publishing. Demonstrated teaching and instruction ability.
