Job Summary

The Law Library Associate Director for Instruction, Access, and Outreach is responsible for all aspects of instruction, outreach, and access services. This position is a senior management position which requires supervision of librarians and staff as well as planning, assessing, and implementing a visionary strategy for library services, resources and technologies.

Minimum Qualifications

Juris Doctor from an ABA-accredited law school, Master’s degree in Library Science from an ALA-accredited library school

Preferred Qualifications

Minimum of 3 years of law school teaching experience; strong leadership, supervisory, and managerial skills, excellent communication and interpersonal skills, and a demonstrated record of teamwork; must be able to coordinate complex activities, and develop new services.
Mastery of basic and advanced legal research sources and techniques using print and digital sources; Experience with educational technologies, such as PowerPoint and learning management systems, preferably Desire2Learn. Knowledge of legal research instructional design and pedagogies including innovative teaching methodologies, clearly articulated learning objectives, and engaging and interactive classroom management abilities.
Experience with access services in an academic law library.
