Job Summary

The Director of Interprofessional Education (IPE) is a new full-time position and will oversee all matters related to IPE including supportive infrastructure and related policy development. The Director of IPE will work collaboratively with administration and faculty within the College of Pharmacy and at the University of Georgia. The position will require frequent interactions with faculty and leadership of other health profession colleges within the state of Georgia and may involve some teaching in the professional pharmacy program.

The Director of IPE will report to the Associate Dean for Academic Affairs. The academic title and rank will reside in the Department of Clinical and Administrative Pharmacy.

The position will provide oversight on all matters related to IPE within the College, including:
• Develop and implement a strategic plan for IPE that ensures academic excellence with IPE and compliance with accreditation standards.
• Determine governance structure for and provide direction to the IPE Program committee, including making committee appointments.
o Serve as Chair to the College IPE Oversight Committee
o Serve as ex-officio member on the
College Curriculum Committee.
• Develop and maintain an effective collaborative relationship with all relevant faculty, University groups, and local, national, and international IPE-related organizations and partners.
o Represent the College at appropriate University and distance campus organizations and committees related to IPE, including the UGA IPE Leadership Committee.
o Engage current and potential stakeholders from state-wide colleges and universities in programmatic and evaluative work to develop a sustainable and fully integrated IPE program meeting the needs of various professions and partners.
• Provide direction for and input into day-to-day planning, implementation, evaluation and dissemination of IPE programs.
o Work with Department Heads, faculty, and Director of Experience programs in IPE curriculum planning, development, and evaluation,
o Support faculty to implement IPE initiatives throughout the P1-P4 curriculum, including didactic, experiential and co-curricular offerings.
• Facilitate ongoing assessment and improvement of the IPE program.
• Serve as a catalyst for faculty research and scholarship related to IPE.

Minimum Qualifications

• Candidates should have a terminal level degree (PharmD, PhD, MD, DNP, etc.) in one of the health professions.
• Candidates should have a health care background
• Candidates should have at least one year of experience in planning, delivering, and evaluating Interprofessional Education

Preferred Qualifications

• Candidates should have a health care background as a Pharmacist or pharmacy; At least five years’ of experience is preferred.
• Candidates should have demonstrated leadership, team work skills, and scholarly activity
