The School of Environmental, Civil, Agricultural and Mechanical (ECAM) Engineering in the College of Engineering at the University of Georgia (UGA) invites applications for one non-tenure track Lecturer position effective August 2018. The College of Engineering and the ECAM School is experiencing an unprecedented growth and the primary duty of the selected candidates will be to teach at the undergraduate level. Position responsibilities include effective classroom teaching of undergraduate courses, laboratory supervision, mentoring undergraduate engineering students, and working with other faculty on innovative teaching methods within the college’s growing instructional programs. Effective communication skills are required.

Position Specifics: Successful applicants must be able to teach courses in Engineering Graphics. Applicants must be proficient in the use of computer based drafting software, be able to teach students how to read and develop working two and three dimensional drawings, teach how to generate orthographic projections, teach how to link the engineering design process and computer based graphic design using standards and conventions in generating engineering drawings and reinforce the value of communication skills to undergraduate students. Teaching methods and attitude should promote student success for all students, regardless of background, identity, or learning style and improve student retention and success.
Based on enrollment needs applicants may also be asked to teach courses in (Computer Methods, Introduction to Engineering and Design Methodology). Faculty may also be asked to work collaboratively with colleagues on curriculum development, pedagogy, program assessment, and other school or college projects
